Q: What is Turner Hill?

A: Located on Boston’s North Shore in the beautiful coastal town of Ipswich, Turner Hill is a private Country Club that is situated on a magnificent 311-acre estate. The Club is a place where you and your family, guests and business associates can enjoy an array of recreational activities, meet interesting and active people and enjoy superior service in a magnificent setting. The goal of Turner Hill is to provide an exceptional Club lifestyle.

Q: What golf and Club facilities will be available to Members of the Club?

A: The Club features an 18-hole Championship Hurdzan/Fry golf course and a breathtaking Clubhouse adjacent to the existing mansion with a Member’s Club room, Member’s Grille, Gentlemen’s locker room and lounge and Ladies’ locker room and lounge. The golf facilities include a Golf Shop, practice driving range and a short game practice area. In addition to a Jr. Olympic sized outdoor pool and paddle tennis courts, future amenities include a tennis facility. The Club is a year-round facility and will take advantage of the exquisite grounds for cold weather activities, including snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Q: Who are Turner Hill’s Members?

A: The Membership at Turner Hill is made up of a group of people who are welcoming, friendly, gregarious and active. The atmosphere and amenities of the Club attracts families, couples and individuals alike. The variety of activities allows families to simultaneously take part in individual forms of recreation; one may play golf while another relaxes by the pool and still another socializes in the Grille. There is something for everyone at Turner Hill.

Q: What is the golf course like?

A: Seldom does one have the opportunity to play a course as challenging as it is beautiful. The championship course has been designed by Hurdzan/Fry to provide a true test of golf while preserving magnificent hillside vistas and century-old landscaping. The dramatic topography challenges serious golfers and entertains those who simply enjoy the game. Golfers at any level will recognize that Turner Hill is a spectacular layout. Rambling for more than 7,000 yards across a mature landscape that offers panoramic views as breathtaking as the play is challenging, Turner Hill’s par-72 course delivers superb golf play. In addition, a complete practice and teaching facility is conveniently located adjacent to the first tee. The range offers fifteen hitting stations and there is a chipping area and separate practice putting green.

Q: What types of Membership are available?

A: The Golf Club at Turner Hill is currently accpeting new golf memberships and is offering family memberships, junior memberships and out of state plans. For more information on our membership programs please contact Paul Casey at 978-356-7070 x104.

Q: Are the number of Memberships in the Club limited?

A: In order to assure the high standard of service and accessibility that our Members expect, the Club can issue no more than a total of 350 Memberships. If it is determined that the golf course is overcrowded for play, the members may decrease the number of Memberships.

Q: Will my family members be welcome at the Club?

A: The Club is committed to providing a welcoming environment where families may spend quality time together. The club offers family Memberships which include full privileges for the Members, spouse and their children under the age of 23. The Club provides a variety of programs and activities that are appealing to all family members. These include but are not limited to; Junior golf & paddle tennis programs, Ladies golf clinics, golf groups and social gatherings, Men’s weekly golf games, family night dinners and social gatherings, couples events and Member / Guest events.

Q: What is available for children?

A: There is a range of activities at Turner Hill for the children of our Members to have fun with while improving their skills. The aim is to allow the younger generation to develop their skills while ensuring that the atmosphere for Members and guests is relaxing and enjoyable.

Q: Will my spouse be entitled to my Membership upon my death?

A: Upon your death, your Membership can be transferred to your spouse, as described in the Membership Plan. Certain membership programs also contain the right to transfer the Membership to a designated heir, other than a spouse, subject to approval by the Manager, as described in the Membership Plan.

Q: Who is eligible to acquire a Membership in the Club?

A: Invitations for Membership will be made by the Club or upon recommendation of Members. The Club’s goal is to create a cohesive, socially compatible group of people while maintaining a premier Golf Club that offers an enjoyable experience for its Members. The Club reserves the right to implement policies with respect to Membership which enable the Club to provide its Members with the utmost enjoyment.

Q: Will there be annual dues or food & beverage spending minimums?

A: Members are required to pay annual dues, however, there are no Food and Beverage minimums.

Q: How do I become a Member?

A: Membership is subject to approval by the Club. An individual must first submit a fully completed application for review. Upon acceptance to the Club, an individual signs a Membership Agreement for the category and type of Membership desired and submits a check in the amount of the required Membership deposit.

Q: Who is responsible for the operation of the Club?

A: A management team of professionals skilled in the private Club and hospitality industry handle the day to day operations of the Club.
